Mrs Charity Stephen Shekari is a former commissioner of Health in Kaduna State where her late husband had once served as Deputy Governor. A 1983 Bachelor of Arts degree holder in English with a Masters in International Law and Diplomacy, both from Ahmadu Bello University (ABU), Zaria, Mrs Shekari has attended leadership programmes from several reputable institutions in the world, including Stanford and Harvard Universities in the United States. She is a mother.

Mrs Charity Stephen Shekari spoke at the 2017 RCCG Teap Teens Conference on What Inspires You where she highlighted the following:

• Recall the story of the boy who shared his lunch – his charitable and sacrificial heart earned him a place in the hall of fame
• Set goals for yourself for these shall be your point of future reference
• Live by example yes, be the right example – don’t bring to your parents the weeping of shame
